About Us
Muraste Nature School was founded in 2006 by Studio Viridis Nature Education and Estonian Fund for Nature. About 15 different outdoor education programs for kindergarten and school children are currently developed and running. The school delivers usually around 300 programs per year and has eight trained nature guides. Children’s programs take place all year round outdoors and the themes cover several areas of the national curriculum. Nature guides have a wealth of knowledge on nature, specific competence in practical learning of species and biosphere, also educational backround. Muraste Nature School’s activities are also supported by Tabasalu Nature Park’s learning trail, where teachers can conduct outdoor education lessons for children even without the help of guides.
Environment
The Muraste Nature School is located in Muraste manor park on the Suurupi peninsula near Tallinn. The nature of the area offers the opportunity to visit dozens of landscape types and get to know their inhabitants within just a few hours of walking. In the vicinity of the coast there is a diverse range of natural landscapes, which are exceptionally rich in variety and thus ensure a very diverse flora and fauna. Such wealth so close to the capital city is a treasure, which, if used carefully and skilfully, allows to provide nature and environmental education opportunities to students and teachers of kindergartens and elementary schools, but also residents of Tallinn and Harjumaa as well as the whole Estonia.
Location
Muraste manor park is under nature protection. Nearby are the Muraste Nature Reserve and the Vääna, Rannamõisa and Suurupi landscape protection areas, also huge Sõrve Nature Reserve founded recently. There are enough areas of the state forest for nature education, and the local hunting society and village societies, as well as the Tabasalu Nature Park, are cooperation partners of the nature school.
Muraste Nature School is located in the Muraste manor park, 15 km from Tallinn along the Klooga road. Bus transfer is very frequent from the center of Tallinn to Muraste bus-stop.

Discovery excursion
The theme of the excursion is chosen by the parent from our selection of educational programs.
Price: 1.5 hours – 110€
Use of the teepee and campfire site
The nature school provides firewood, grill skewers, and a table. Food and utensils must be brought by the birthday group themselves.
Price: 1 hour – 50€

Workshops
Over the years, we have had the opportunity to participate in and conduct exciting workshops at various openings, school-end celebrations, and other events.
We bring our workshop to your event and according to your needs, organize games, quizzes, and nature school lessons (plant identification, bird song, making insect hotels, water insect identification workshop, making reed wreaths, etc).
