At Muraste Nature School, you don't go indoors - the nature classroom is outdoors: in the forest and by the sea. We've brought nature closer to thousands of children and we hope to continue doing so for a long time to come. What you learn in books tends to be forgotten, but what you have seen with your own eyes and touched with your own hands in nature will always stay with you!

Muraste Looduskoolist

Muraste Looduskool on asutatud 2006. aastal Studio Viridis Loodushariduse ja Eestimaa Looduse Fondi poolt. Valminud on hulk õuesõppe programme lasteaia- ja koolilastele.

Kool viib aastas läbi tavaliselt ligikaudu 200 programmi ning seal töötab kaheksa koolitatud loodusgiidi. Lasteprogrammid toimuvad aastaringselt õues ja püstkojas ning teemad katavad mitmeid riikliku õppekava valdkondi. Retkejuhtidel on põhjalikud teadmised loodusest, erialane pädevus liikide ja biosfääri praktilises õppimises ning ka pedagoogiline taust.
Muraste Looduskooli tegevusi toetab ka Tabasalu Looduspargi õpperada, kus õpetajad ka ilma juhendajate abita saavad lastele õuesõppe tunde läbi viia.

Ümbruskond

Muraste Looduskool asub Suurupi poolsaarel Muraste mõisapargis. Paikkonna loodus pakub huvilisele vaid mõnetunnise jalgsimatka jooksul võimalust külastada kümneid maastikutüüpe ja tutvuda nende asukatega. Ranniku läheduses leidub mitmekesine valik looduslikke kooslusi, mis on erakordselt vaheldusrikkad ja tagavad nõnda ka väga liigirikka taimestiku ja loomastiku. Selline rikkus niivõrd pealinna ligiduses on määratu aare, mis ettevaatlikul ja oskuslikul kasutamisel võimaldab anda loodusteavet ja -haridust paljudele Tallinna ja Harjumaa elanikele – esmajärjekorras aga kindlasti loodusõppe järele janunevatele lasteaedade ja algkoolide õpilastele ning õpetajatele.
